Signals decide, humans act
As pointed out several times, writing is the best medium to think clearly, thus successfully.
Einstein emphasized the importance and seldomness of thinking with these words: thinking is hard work; that’s why so few do it.
As a firm believer in Einstein’s words, I would like to take the matter even one step further. It occurs to me that almost no one thinks their own thoughts.
People are subject to more inputs than they can handle healthily.
Bombarded with signals whose sole purpose is to manipulate the way we think and persuade us to make decisions in particular ways. The amount we are exposed to is more than we can take.
Such overtake disrupts the role of inputs.
The true purpose of these instruments should have been to help us to make decisions. But they have clearly passed that point. Now they are the ones making the decisions and we are the ones acting on them.
All in all, we must do our part when it comes to thinking. We need to work hard since, as Einstein affirms, thinking is no easy task.
